Marc Laws

“If you are curious what a New Mexican hug is… come find me “

A passion for connection and an expanse of mind-body-soul wisdom acquired through his own journey as a ex-professional soccer player and sports therapist continually inspires Marc to explore the human body. When he came across the ancient teachings of yoga his soul and mind lit up. Learning that the ancient spiritual science offers a direct means of stilling the natural turbulence of thoughts and restlessness of body and mind. His curiosity of self and our connections with others and the world Marc loves to share and endeavors to create a space for others to tap into their true nature, higher self… your teacher within you.

Marc’s classes combine physical precision flow with fun and soulful exploration of yoga. The experience is a quest of self discovery to unlock true potential that reaches beyond the status quo.

  • What does yoga do to you?

Yoga… ah yoga.  What a wondrous journey it’s been thus far. It questions me any many ways, asking if I’m being the best human-being I can be towards myself, others and my environment. Centers and focuses me leading to self perceived state of homeostasis. The asana practice strengthens and supples my body, brings union to body and mind promoting radiant health. Reveals my thought patterns for me to ponder and meditate on.  Ultimately energizing my soul and well-being.

  • Where you are based and teach? What influence has nature in your life?

I’m currently based in London teaching/sharing classes around the city.  I’ve also been lucky enough to share my yoga experience via my classes in different parts of the world.  Recently I was teaching some workshops in the city I was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico in The U.S.  It was beautiful experience as it was my first time back in over 4 years and this was before yoga for me. To be able to come back to my hometown and pass on yoga is a memory I hold close to my heart.  Growing up in New Mexico I was surrounded by nature.  From the 300+ days, blue skies, mountains, hot springs, dessert and canyon had an impact on me that I didn’t quite fully realize until I moved to the city.  In the city we play the game, in nature is where we are from… it brings us back.  Nature teaches Yoga (union).

  • What comes up in your mind when you think of praticing yoga in the Mountains?

What a combination! Some of the freshest air/prana you will ever breathe, bright blue skies, vibrant green mountains, open space, yoga practice and at night bright flickering stars looking down on us… what a magical experience it will be.
